I just want people to understand cooking pasta requires a lot of water and cooked pasta requires refrigeration because it can make you extremely ill to keep cook pasta that’s been out for a few hours let alone days. Bread keeps well, and traditionally it can be eaten fresh or soaked or put in soup, it can be held at room temperature and their primary cultural diet has always relied on bread. The flour was mouldy and full of bugs, the pasta doesn’t get like that, that’s why it’s easier to store and more accessible than flour. Point is, they ARE starving and they DO need help.
