@abc7chicago: A kayaker was seen battling to stay afloat in raging waters on the Potomac River in Great Falls, Maryland, on Saturday, May 17. This footage was captured by Jeanne McVey, who said that the river “nearly [swallowed] up a kayaker,” but that he was “ok” after the ordeal. The National Weather Service reported that multiple severe thunderstorms occurred in the region on Friday, the day before this footage was captured. #news #potomac #kayaking
