My auntie a boomer BTW, she told us that funerals are a social event, ofc is sad but if we appreciated her we should all be dressed to impress, we are meeting with friends and family and I think out of respect we should all look fantastic.

I totally believe this is 100% true in my previous job every single summer that we hire more people we usually had 18 to 25 years old young people. every time I was going for inspection to check them if they work (as we knew probably are sitting with their phones playing games) I always found people sitting on the sofas not working. One day a girl told me " I am not feeling it today" ........

To be fair, at my best friends funeral in December, we sent out an invitation that specified that the dress code was “vintage formal mourning attire” and people really embraced it. It was actually slay.

Omg. I’m a retired boomer. Been both employer and employee. and just have to say the work environment has really changed! 😳 I wouldn’t have the patience for any of this for one minute and suggesting another environment might be a better fit and out of concern for her happiness giving her a chance to explore that starting immediately 😏
