Except that Captain John was killed as part of mutiny by his subordinates - which was stated in volume 49's sbs. Whilst in an sbs and not in a chapter itself, I doubt Oda would change it to be him dying on God Valley, especially because John amassed an impressive treasure - which Buggy is hunting down. Would be odd for that to be from pre-rocks days, and even more weird if it was during his time with Rocks
