@cultdaddy_clone: The new and improved NEXT GEN PLAN… Chill bro. It’s a mother in law suite marketed to young adults. #housingcrisis #housingshortage #housingproblem
Yeah why did it go from making money to help your parents when they get older to parents using their money to continue to support their kids. Oh yeah, its when they made this country inhospitable to their own children. Its so sad how things have turned out. And think of those parents who cant afford that bc they also are struggling. Its so unfair

Gen Z needs help, this is the only way we can live and survive and it’s debilitating, stop sending all our tax money overseas!

Counterpoint: let’s consider the cultures that have traditionally had multigenerational families living close together, if not under the same roof. There’s a reason for that.

Millennials have boomers to care for and our children to help cause no one helped us. Getting it from both ends. And we don’t even have money to start with.

Perfect timing. Young adults can’t get work so now they HAVE to take care of the boomers.

My husband and I have already discussed that our kids will likely live at home until they’re 30. They’re currently 8 and 9 😂

Is this a Lennar floorplan? lol. It looks a lot like the ones in my neighborhood. To be fair when we looked the sales staff said it was for "elderly family or your college student/recent grad".

this would be awesome for adult friends who could be roommates but want true private space and hate apartments. OR also a perfect airbnb rental

We are already building out for this. Parents had a lifetime to prepare for retirement and care. Push your wealth and assets forward don't let it get clawed backward.

My brother (30) is moving back in with my parents. I’m (33) between teaching jobs and I don’t wanna go back to their house. Did it during COVID and after leaving Ukraine. Tired of being a millennial

Ever heard of mother/daughter homes? This is not knew. I was born and raised in NYC and houses like this have been a thing for decades. Also why is having a family living together like this viewed as negative?

I’d rather help my kids than my parents… also, this is the European model. generations of families live under one roof there.

It's cause the marketing was created by a Millenial or Gen Z who wants their own space and knows they are doomed to live in the basement forever!

Ok yes there is an extreme issue w the housing market but conversely a cultural shift back to multigen housing is needed. Both for aging parents & adult children.

multi generational housing is cool though.... and they're marketing to people in their 50s that can AFFORD housing. why would they market to people in their 30s who can't?? while it's a problem, that's from the banks and govt, not the poor 34 year old marketing manager😭

Problem is, anyone that can afford that floor plan which costs significantly more, can prob afford their kids college cost allowing the kid to afford to pay for their own housing
