You should DEFINITELY tune the car bro. The car is running fine at the moment, because the ECU is currently pulling timing to try and keep the car within factory spec. Two things to understand here. The car will actually run slower with a downpipe and no tune, because the car is trying to compensate for the additional airflow. A tune will make the added parts run seamlessly, and you will actually see performance gains.

My bmw dealership not only sent my ecu out to Femto (with loaner ) but they tuned it as well ….once I got my down pipe they said they could remove the light for $150 so clearly it’s not really effecting anything if bmw did it 🤷♂️

I think the downpipe will only cause problems if you are constantly beating on the car and not driving it normally.

i had an 02 spacer installed on the primary (upstream) O2 sensor-the one closest to the turbo.
That sensor controls fueling, so the car is now running rich and bogging at idle. (Found this out after the fact)
The spacer needs to be removed from the upper sensor and either put on the lower one or just remove it completely (leaning more towards removing completely) but will this fix my issue of the car bogging down on idle?

I don’t even got a dp and got a Drivetrain malfunction light 3 weeks ago? Car runs perfectly fine no problems and the light disappeared. Anyone know why?

g22_panda :
The ECU is trying to calculate the AFR from the 02 sensor. When the cats are gone it can calculate correctly. Causing the drivetrain malfunction
