Spiderman 2 was a great analysis of the question, “When Spiderman saves everyone, who saves Spiderman?”. The Answer Raimi gave us was brilliant, by saving others, Spiderman is also saved. He learns that his purpose is what drives him forward. Spiderman picks others up not just because they fall, but also so they can learn to pick themselves up. Spiderman is above all things a symbol of hope, especially to all the people who looked up those skyscrapers hoping to catch a glimpse of their hero, a reminder that with great power comes great responsibility.
