Hi, furniture sales person here. I don’t normally ever comment on videos but this one is bothering me. Using the example she showed in this video you can just look at the specifications and see why there’s such a difference in price. The $3000 couch she shows is made with genuine cotton velvet upholstery, high density foam with sinuous spring cushions, and kiln-dried wood for the frame. Now after using the Dupe sight, the first option is a $600 one on Amazon, and you can literally see in the specs why it’s cheaper: it uses polyester made to feel like velvet, the cushions are cheap foams with cheap springs, and the frame is basic plywood/solid wood. When it comes to furniture: PRICE MATTERS FOR QUALITY

Buying dupes is crazy to me, the reason an item is cheaper is not only because its worse quality but because the company that sells them doesn’t have to pay for marketing team, designers, advertising, etc. By buying dupes you’re stopping the product designing companies from growing and making new designs🤦♀️🤦♀️the only reason you want a specific couch is because the original company has done a good job in the creation, manufacturing and selling process of their original couch

As someone who works for Ashley’s ,a lot of furniture places buy our furniture and sell it for more. We are actually the number one manufacturer.

So yes and no! I went to school for interior design and furniture actually has to pass many tests in order to even be made. Sometimes you’re paying for the name, but high end you’re paying for the quality/longevity of the product (think Herman Miller or Knoll). But yes this is a problem is almost all industries

I’d never recommend stealing but if I did, I’d say go to ikeas self check out and donc scan any duplicates in your cart and don’t scan the big items. They never check. I’d never do that to small brands (or ikea ….) but it my way to get reparations
