If it was truly a study, that should have been made clear with study results clearly presented. OR it’s just something that the pay for service industry has very strong lobbyists & some representatives will be paid in free filings. Those of us that could use the help SOL.

We shouldn’t have to file taxes yearly. The IRS receives all our tax information from I’m our employer. We should just get a bill or a refund automatically sent to us each year. Streamline the process.

Governments should make tax filing as easy as possible, not encourage industry to charge for tax services for the average standard filing, unless persons require services due to their complex tax situation. Otherwise tax filing has become its own tax

All of the tax filing companies lobbied against anything that helps. other countries handle the tax obligation and sends checks directly to the person without them even needing to file. It's possible to have good things, but Congress won't allow it because it fills their own pockets. tax filing institutions pay our representatives to ensure we don't have any other options and their services are otherwise known as filing services grifting.

tbh we shouldn't be forced to file any of these anyways - there's absolutely no need for individual income taxes. Should be shifted to just tax businesses - would simplify the whole thing and cost way less

This is several months late. They got rid of Direct File immediately. This is also sanitized and Right-leaning because it's an open secret that the tax return lobby put a lot into the last election to get it removed.
