I worked with dementia patients for some time as practice for my med class. I had a patient who cried for his mommy before he passed away later that night. It was so hard not to cry listening to him talk about her. He'd tell me how close they were and how he always helped her around at home when she wasnt able to. One thing that stuck with me is when he said "I struggle to remember most things, but I'll never forget my mommy. Thank you for listening dear, I'll try to remember you too" I sobbed going home that day
