@bhutan360: Chele La Pass ( Chelela Pass) is one of the highest motorable pass in Bhutan, situated at an elevation of 3,988 meters (13,083 feet) above sea level. It lies between the Paro and Haa valleys, approximately 35 km from Paro and 26 km from Haa, accessible via the Bondey-Haa Highway . The pass offers panoramic views of the Himalayan range, including Mount Jomolhari (7,314 meters), one of Bhutan's most sacred peaks, and Jichu Drake. On clear days, visitors can also enjoy vistas of both the Paro and Haa valleys . The route to Chele La Pass winds through forests of spruce, larch, and rhododendron, with opportunities to spot yaks grazing in alpine meadows. Notably, the slopes are home to the rare white poppy (Meconopsis superba), found during the summer months . Kila Nunnery: Bhutan’s oldest nunnery, dating back to the 9th century, is accessible via a short hike from the pass . Dzongdrakha Goemba: A cliffside monastery located near the pass, known for its sacred rock paintings and spiritual significance . The area is popular for mountain biking and hiking, offering trails with stunning natural scenery . Best Time to Visit: April to June for blooming rhododendrons; October to March for snow-capped mountain views. Winter Caution: The pass can be hazardous during winter months (January and February) due to snow and ice, making travel risky . The drive from Paro to Chele La Pass takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, covering approximately 35 km . Chele La Pass is a must-visit for those seeking breathtaking views, cultural experiences, and a touch of adventure in Bhutan's highlands. @Aaron Ace Bhutan Tours & Treks @it's me yangs
