I went to the Tea Party. I opposed the bailouts and wanted to abolish the Federal Reserve System. I liked Ron Paul. I’m no longer end to libertarianism.

And if we all just worked together, we could do big things. It’s not a red vs blue issue anymore. The left has lurched so far to the right that they aren’t recognizable anymore. They’re (mostly) the bland, do-nothing party funded by AIPAC.

Kudos to you, BUT, please go deeper. Tea party was a reaction to Obama, not Obama care. Selfishness is not our natural state but is is the natural state of Patriarchy and White Supremacy. Social welfare problems for minorities exist because the consistent slap down of opportunities placed on them unfairly YET whites are the disproportionate recipients of welfare.

The Koch brothers funded the tea party to infiltrate/activate rural areas to play on racism & bigotry. “Obamacare” aka The Affordable Care Act improved/provided access to healthcare for MILLIONS of poor. It FORCED predatory healthcare insurance corps to cover procedures like “double” mastectomy & reconstruction when PRIOR they could deny a patient both. It also prevented insurance corps from “maxing out” coverage to cause unaliving of transplant patients who could no longer afford non rejection meds. I lost a friend to this pre-obamacare when her insurance corp cut her off POST transplant & she couldn’t afford the $5300 a month to keep her transplant kidney alive. The “reaction” to the ACA was engineered by bigots to get unsuspecting people to think that healthcare reform was bad. Millions of people voted & continue to vote against healthcare for all to DENY healthcare to everyone. How intelligent is that? Life isn’t “easy” for anyone but the 1% who own the system, senate, and judges. Voting to harm others “because that’s not fair that they get access to healthcare too,” is PEAK insanity. It’s NOT a “social welfare program” to use our OWN COLLECTIVELY SOURCED TAXPAYER FUNDS on benefits that we deserve. Who cares if it helps EVERYONE? WE CARE. WE DESERVE UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE. ALL OF US.

It makes me think of how Yts drained free public pools all over America after desegregation and filled them with concrete rather than share them. I think it’s an over simplification to say selfish is “our” natural state many Yt Americans would rather do without rather than POC have the same things they do.
