That’s so sad and unfair! The 2014 amendment to s.3 of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, should be reformed. A protective dog isn’t “out of control”, they’re doing what they were bred and trained to do: defend their people and their territory. In fact, they can save your life, and we can find many real examples of that! A dog defending its family should be protected, not punished! They are doing police officers duties, protect you!

uk law is a joke if someone breaks into ur home u cant protect urself or ur dog cant protect u 🤷♂️instead they go after u and give the criminals a pass and parade and wee slap on the wrist 🙄 seriously laws these days need updated and revised

the Law stinks!!!... many years ago we had an attempted burglary, thankfully our GSH was straight there and the thief went back out of the window he came through, we alerted the police and explained what had happened and were told that if our dog had bite the burglar we could have been prosecuted.....

I specialised in dangerous dog law in law school and honestly so many dogs are seized and come back worse behaved than when they went in. It’s traumatic for them and no many go in without a true cause 😭

This is my worse fear as an American bulldog owner! My neighbour keeps lifting our joining fence and coming in to my garden I have warned him that my dog will bite him but he just laughed at me Iv pictures and videos of him in my garden which I keep for proof and what will be going to the police as had enough

The only time I have been bitten by a dog was at friends house, the dog was jumping at the gate and I put my hand over to stroke him and he bit me. However, I was a new person to him, on his property, entering his personal space. I was naive and should’ve known better. I would never put the dog or the family through something like that. I haven’t mentioned it since but they took it upon themselves to get new gates and spend thousands on training. And I now know not to think I’m the dog whisperer 😂

My dog was put down the start of this year after getting in a fight with another dog, they put him down before court and before we could even fight for him.

system is a joke, they take good dogs, lock them up for months, most don't wont eat due to stress and separation anxiety then expect the dogs to behave, some have never been away from their family before

This is getting ridiculous My neighbours dog was taken away because someone allegedly saw them bite a person 4 months They couldn’t see him. The dog developed an illness and kennel rang and said he was about to die. He recovered and then was asked to pay the ‘victim’ several thousand pounds in order to get the dog back. Not justice.
