@raquelsutherlandmedia: The art of composition 📸 I try to follow these framing/composition rules to a certain extent when I’m filming. However there are some shots where you can absolutely break these rules. As everyone says “they are just guidelines”. I end up using these rules the most when I am in the editing stage and I want one shot to easily fall into the next. For example, I usually mark the point/subject that the eye is focused on, using the rules, I then try to make sure the following shot also has the subject in the same position. Sometimes this isn’t necessary, but it’s a good technique to make sure the viewers/audiences eye isn’t fighting for what to look at next. Here’s some examples of some traditional composition techniques.
