I first watched football as a child — at my neighbor’s, on a noisy evening. I don’t remember exactly when, but I think it was the World Cup. I wasn’t thinking about football then, I had only heard about Ronaldo and Messi… And yet, I will never forget that day. That day, Luka Modric introduced me to the true beauty of football. It was as if he was thinking about the ball like an artist with a brush. I felt not only technique in his game — but also spirit. And I, with childish sincerity, would tell everyone: “This is the best!” — I didn’t even know why, but my heart dictated it. I liked Luka from the first moment I saw him. I saw in him a humble genius who had more to offer than just statistics or titles. He is different — and that is why he is great. There is love, dedication, and true art in his game. Today I already understand with what intuition I said those words then. Luka is an unknown glory for many, but for me — the poetry of football. I don't need many words, my heart has already chosen: Luka is my first — and always will be 🥇⚽❤️.
