We (Ohio) enshrined our right to aborition in our constitution. They keep trying to find ways to overrule it, but it was an overwhelming vote (if I remember correctly, 69 or 71% in favor) they need to leave Ohio women alone!

In South Carolina, they have reintroduced a bill that will charge a woman with homicide the subjecting her to the death penalty. I hate the state I live in.

And it’s almost always a black woman, in a lower income community. It’s sickening, truly. And a lot of white women will see that & think (consciously or subconsciously) “well, I’m not black, so… I’m safe”. But if it’s happening to black women, it will happen to white women too. Just like how we warned cis women that the anti-trans rhetoric would affect them too — low & behold, a tall cis white woman was recently followed & harassed in her work’s bathroom, by a cis white man…. He accused her of being trans… and then she was fired for it - SHE was fired, for being harassed. If marginalized women are not safe, then no woman is safe.

I have had six consecutive miscarriages. I cannot IMAGINE having to go through that trauma, and then being arrested for it. I won’t tell anyone I’m pregnant until the third trimester if I end up lucky enough.

In Toledo, they had characterized remains found in the dumpster of an apt bldg as an infant/newborn but it was actually a miscarriage. The coroner did note that it was non viable conception remains.

“Local media” = GOP donor owned media. Ohio has FEW independently owned media outlets. They are newspapers, NOT tv/radio outlets. All tv/radio in Ohio is oligarch/mega corp owned.

I know Republican women of childbearing years, coworkers with young & teenage daughters who may dream of having children. They focus on prolife rhetoric instead of seeing the results of their choices- prosecution of women for miscarriages. Women being villainized for “God’s will”. But it won’t happen to them? 💔

At what pt should we try to do something besides throw away a bl00dy pad or flush? 5 weeks, 9 weeks, 15 weeks, 18 weeks? Keep in mind that you are 4 weeks pregnant before you ever miss your period, so at 5 weeks you might think you were just late.
