@sachistorymuseum: If you have watched many of our videos from the print shop, you’ll notice we mainly print with copy paper or card stock. This press run is a little different as Jared letterpress printed the Sacramento History Museum logo and contact information on brown paper bags using a 3x5 Kelsey Excelsior tabletop printing press. About 100 bags were printed on this press run using black rubber base ink. A dab of ink was added to the ink disk after every 10-15 prints. We thought today would be a good day to post this because May 25th is apparently National Brown-Bag-It Day! When it comes to printing something like paper bags, it can actually be pretty difficult due to layers. Having a good impression requires making sure the make ready can accommodate the different thicknesses of the bag. These paper bags are for our museum store. When you purchase something from our store, even the bag is a souvenir! #SacHistoryMuseum #paperbag #paperbags #brownbag #ink #sacramento #museum #History #letterpress #printingpress #asmr #printing
