My problem is slowing down the gears so I can change no problem then it’s throws me off coming to junctions etc and getting down back to 1 😭 instructor always on at me for it

I have the opposite issue i try and downshift from 2nd to 1st and end up in 3rd 🤦♂️

Please do a video on roundabouts, I have my test in 3 weeks and I’m still being told I’m “hesitant” but surely you’d rather wait than pull out!? I’ll look for my gap and the instructor is like “could have gone 🤪” while I’m like “🫥 what?!” Idk if it’s my dyslexia poppin off or what but maybe you could word it in a way that may help? 😭😭🫡

for me i just think of the lower gears as control and the higher as speed. as in u can either have control or speed, with 3 as a kinda middle ground. lower gears for turns, higher gears for maintaining speeds.

i used to struggle with the gears until my instructor told me to think of them like bike gears! also just bought my first car (yesterday!) 🥹 hated the new clutch at first but i'm surprised how quickly i've adapted to it!!

Learned in a manual, cannot stand gears but passed 3 week ago tomorrow and been driving automatic because I’m ✨lazy✨n never wanna use gears again🤣

it's all hand position and technique that make it easier. Flat hand, not grabbing hold of the gear stick. It's called the palming method. 1ts to 2nd, flat hand, back of your hand facing towards you, push sideways then slide back..

I've just had my 11th lesson this morning and I've noticed I'm changing gear without even thinking about it 😁 don't get me wrong every now and then il make a mistake but for me it's an achievement 😃

in driving lessons we put so much thought into the gears, once we start to drive ourselves in our own car then it becomes instinct
