At the hotel I worked at our website was actually wrong and said we had a pool. We had no pool, never had a pool, had no space for a pool. It took 3 months for corporate to get the website fixed, after having the worst conversations with guest after guest.

50 dollar deposit is actually really reasonable. I specifically look for hotels without deposits because every single time it’s 150-250. I don’t want that much tied up for a week. I do wish hotels were more transparent with their deposit policy. I always have to call the hotel directly to find out. It should just be in the room description.

The last time I stayed at a hotel I looked a king, the app said I booked a king, my receipt said I booked a king, and yet the hotel staff insisted I booked a double queen and wouldn't put me in the proper room type despite all of my evidence of having booked a king.

Had someone try that with my card. Bank threw up a red flag because they were using “the card” without the EMV chip, mag stripe only. All of their cards are chipped.
