would help if some GP's did the job and STOP gaslighting patients all the symptoms and ignored

I cannot believe that pancreatic cancer has not had more progress for longer life. It's stayed the same for years. My mum died from it she lasted 3 years from prognosis. Her dad died of it at 52. Mum was 74. It's not fair. Enough is not being done 💜

my husband went to the doctors as soon as he had an upset tummy with severe stomach pains for 3 weeks. He was sent away & told it was just an upset tummy. WE had to keep pushing and pushing. Doctors need extra education. Their delay cost us 3 months & ultimately my husbands life !

Two years ago a visited my uncle one of the kindest people I know. I noticed the yellow in his eyes, convinced him and we went to the hospital thinking she was lacking something. Only to be diagnosed with pancreatic stage 4 cancer.. Three months later he died. The pain has not left me to date 💔

Jaundice is usually the last sign that will show for most pancreatic cancer patients lol, when the mass becomes large enough to affect the liver and bile ducts

My grandad went to the gp because of blood in his urine. Gp said it was normal for his age and sent him away. It was pancreatic cancer and he died within 6 months. Half the battle is getting a GP appointment and then getting them to listen and do something.

I lost my mum 7 years ago this November due to pancreatic cancer by the time it was picked up and diagnosed it had massively spread and she died 3 months after her diagnosis. there needs to be much much more awareness around this type of cancer as it's a silent killer.

@maya: Gp don’t listen no more you can barely get an appointment with the same GP. They don’t look over the notes and see a pattern of anything. They truly are not as good as they used to be whatever the excuses are. It’s nowhere near the same as it used to be and they barely listen to it or take your concrnsseriously anyway.

See the trouble with this is no matter what symptom you go the dr with in general your palmed off from the bounce until you go back and back until they do something 9 months it took me going back and forth before I was taken serious which in cancer can be life or death 😔

Thank you I agree with you and I’m not a doctor but I’ve lost already to relatives to pancreatic cancer and that is the saddest thing. It is very difficult to to get symptoms like other cancers and that’s why when you discovered a pancreatic cancer it’s too late.

Issue is that the GPs don’t take it seriously! My Dad had every single one of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer & visited the GP for 18months begging for help. He was congratulated on his dramatic weight loss and the saturated bedding every single morning from sweats was just dismissed. He was diagnosed with just weeks left. No point in us knowing the symptoms when the GPs don’t know.

I’m not being funny but if you go to the GP with back pain you’re told it’s a pulled muscle and to take some paracetamol and keep moving.
