This is why he’s one of the most interesting heroes and one of my favorites, he’s got the traditional vigilante moral complexity of Spider-Man or Batman but he’s a deep thinker, he’s super religious but also super existential, he believes in god and the morals of the Bible but he questions them and isn’t a perfect servant, he sins all the time and dresses in devil’s skin but prays harder than most priests. He’s not the kind of person who would be a protagonist in a Bible story but he’s more devout than most, I feel like we can all relate a little to that. His Catholic guilt is one of his best traits and I can’t wait to see more of it.

i’m an atheist, but matt is a character i love, and the theme of his interpretations of religion in his character arc are beautiful to me. genuinely the depiction of faith i’ve felt closest to, because he’s such a raw character
