I think Yuna becoming a sphere hunter makes sense although I think the dress sphere system kinda takes away from the lore sense of it. And her using a gun makes sense because it s not like guns are new in Spira.and she is probably high enough ranked in the world they wouldn’t restrict her if they wanted to.i think canonically it would made more sense to make the whole game focused more on Yuna s life with out Tidus but also her search for him. The struggles between ye on and the youth league could ve took center stage without vegnagun ever being a thing.
