This is definitely a double edged sword, because while there's real danger of its long-term effects on the stability of the entertainment industry there's also the aspect of it enabling creative minds that otherwise struggled to get their projects out there to produce projects like this. a short film like this would have taken months to years of planning and production and $50 to $100,000 at the minimum so they often get shelved and never see the light of day. VEO3 hasn't even been available for an entire month yet and projects of this quality are surfacing. In its current state I see this as a tool to enable creative storytelling by people with narrative experience, not a replacement for storytellers. but while it can assist the storyteller it does still remove the need for entire casts and crews that would be required to make the project traditionally. My intention for use of this as a filmmaker would be to use it for concept trailers to try to get funding and approval to produce the overall larger project traditionally. I guess I will see how that goes!
