yup. God's Sabbath day has not ended. gives a fresh understanding of Jesus being Lord of the Sabbath. Jesus gives His children rest Matt 11:28--like a perpetual Sabbath for us to Honor Him in.

I always point that out, and one of the reasons I am not convinced in the argument for young earth based on the usage of “yom” being a literal 24 hour day. The seventh day turns that usage into something else and signifying something more.

The seventh day is called a “day” just like the others, which implies it included evening and morning—a continuation of the cycle of time and light/darkness that God had already ordained.

doesn’t the new heaven/earth renovations come at end of 7th / beggining of eternal 8th? 8th also has idea of spiritual heart circumcision. Isaiah/Rev makes it sound like there is still some light rebellion during the millenium & and at the end. but for those of us getting to live with/observe Jesus, we will be sanctifying to His image so much during that time. can’t wait to see how He does everything, the gospels were just a small taste.

There may be an application there connecting the lack of mention of evening of the seventh day to truth later revealed, but it’s not designed that way for that purpose. The purpose of the evening/morning cycles on days 1-6 is to establish the origin of time and to show that God did all of His creative work on those days. God resting on the seventh day is a foreshadowing of eternal rest (Heb. 4:9-10).
