@kenoyatheomnist: I think it’s time I take myself seriously and put my theories down to paper. I have spent a little over a year developing a grounded understanding of spirituality through the lense of psychology and I believe my theories have serious weight to them. I believe if applied my theories can completely shift the way we approach healing/therapy and tbh I believe they can change lives. It has changed my life and from the feedback I get from yall, it shifts y’all’s perspectives for the better.
understanding neurotypical communication is so much labor

this explains why bad feedback hurts ND people so much: we take it very personally to the spirit and not the ego

I want to add to this. I’m neurodivergent and I have three kids and one is neurotypical. I have the hardest time communicating with her. (I constantly see her has “lying” because I can see through her “persona” and she accuses me of being too nosey but this made me realize we’re just built differently)

I often wonder if neurotypical is a result of conditioning and neorodivergent is the natural human function.

I wish NT people put this much effort into understanding ND people and how we communicate 🙄

neurotypical people do not require as much sensory in order to function as well. i wrote a 7page college paper on the effects of sensory interpretation on individuals w neurodivergence and neurotypical brains. people w autism rely on sensory input in order to function while neurotypical individuals prefer cues and dont NEED the sensory experience to learn

Just a personal note, I’ve come to the point where I understand this dynamic enough to know I don’t value it. Being the most authentic me possible comes at a cost, but there’s freedom is worth it.

How did we as a society reach the point where communicating intentionally and meaning what you say is a symptom of a neurological condition???

Being NT, I see the dance we do as making others feel comfortable. I am careful with my words and actions because I want to be kind with people. It appears, in these comments, that people see the work that I do as “fake”, when in reality it takes thought and effort to be kind and sensitive to others. Am I misinterpreting?

This also totally explains nathan fielder’s comedy style too lol he just directly hits NT people’s selves and they have no idea how to respond lmao

This is why I've noticed I can only properly interact with a neurotypical person if they are spiritually quite mature, then it kind of balances out these differences.

So is this why neurotypical tend to not recognize narcissists because they are taught to respect everyone’s egos when we neurodivergent people sense the soul and sense the conflict between these two?

I think the idea of ego death for neurodivergent people is so so different as well because of the close relationship to self - potentially leading to loss of self image/core spirit whereas the goal might actually be to have them work together and integrate the two

Worth mentioning: neurodivergent people can often see through the persona/ego of neurotypical people. So speaking directly to the self is actually difficult to avoid. Hence difficulty in delivering msgs in a way that will avoid the bypass. Trying to avoid this is both difficult and mentally exhausting.

I just see neurotypicals as domesticated humans and us neurodivergents are semi wild. They're the dogs and we're the wolf-dog hybrids
