No cos when I was ten cm and about to start pushing I begged for an epidural and they said too late and I said ‘ok well can you kill me then’. Like in that moment I chose death 😂

for anyone reading these comments and scared to give birth, it CAN be not painful. hypno birthing truly helped me. it helped me ride the waves instead of fighting contractions and it was hard work but never PAINFUL. the most important thing is to keep your face, jaw and full body absolutely loose and relaxed and exhale through the contractions. I'm sure it's not like this for everyone but many people have done it this way and it truly helps.

my poor sister WITH an epidural was violently throwing up during contractions like how bad can it get 😭 I was there in person and I'm childless as a result 😂

I literally tried to calculate whether I could knock myself unconscious on the radiator next to the birthing pool during my son’s unmediated birth…luckily, I was too far away to do it. 😂 But I literally thought about civil war soldiers lying in the field dying and felt a kinship with them in the midst of active labor. 😭 Seems irrational now, but it MADE SENSE in the moment!!

This is how I knew the medical industry was gaslighting me about how my painful period cramps were normal. I waited until I was 8.5 cm dilated before I asked for an epidural because I kept waiting for it to be more painful then my period, and it never was.

I remember thinking to myself how am I actually handling this amount of pain without dying?? Like I was genuinely not understanding how the human body could it. Then I hit 10 cms and my body just started pushing, weirdest feeling ever!!
