My experience with ovarian cysts and uterine adenocarcinoma. This was Chestnut and Cannoli. It all started with Cannoli losing weight, hunching in her habitat. She would act normal around me but I had a camera watching her. I immediately took her to our vet. They took X-rays and performed an examination and determined she had ovarian cysts. A few days later she had a flank spay and the vet called me to tell me she had a little lump in her uterus that was concerning. He sent it to pathology and determined she had uterine adenocarcinoma. We picked her up and we’re weighing our options on chemo. I wanted to let her heal from surgery. She was doing well but one day (2 1/2 weeks later) she had liquid in her tummy. She looked bloated from the liquid. We rushed her to the vet and she became very weak. The attending vet asked us if we wanted her to try to remove the liquid. She checked her heart which was strong. But I made the decision to not let her suffer. It was the toughest decision but I didn’t want her to suffer anymore. She could hardly stand. I blamed myself for even letting her have the surgery. We spent a few hours with her before we said our goodbyes. She came in our lives at the time when we had lost four piggies within five months during Covid. She was my mom’s favorite. I had lost my mom two months before and I never wanted to give up on Noli. But I couldn’t let her suffer. Chestnut had an ovarian cyst as well, but her symptoms were large nipples and bloat. We took her to the emergency vet and they took her temperature and monitored her until our regular vet was open. When we got there, they immediately took her in and couldn’t assess what was wrong because she had bloat and we had to leave her at the hospital. She remained at the hospital for four days and when she no longer have blood, they can see that she had ovarian cysts. After she gained some weight, they performed the flank spay on her. She did excellent and lived a couple of more years. Unfortunately ovarian cysts is very common in sows. If you had a guinea pig with ovarian cyst or cancer? Please share your experience with me and how did you cope with it. Thank you. _________________ Etsy Shop: My3guineapigsShop LINK IN BIO. #guineapigs #guineapig #cobayo #cobaya #etsyseller #морскаясвинка #derriguinea #girls #Love #Cochondinde #fuzzyinstapigs #love #기니피그 #etsy #cavylife #conejillodeindias #Ginedomuzu #guineapigsofinstagram #boys #funny #モルモット #SmallBusiness #cobaia #guineapigsofig #nyc #porcellino #humor #sweet #boys @miawearspajamas @blackpawwhitepaw @bedheads_and_wigpigs @cavycoterie @crystalcitycavies @dario_squittyandcathy @jakisgorgeousguineas @julchen304 @piggieverse @mr.mrs.pigglesworth @mr._muffles__sugarbush @pansyted.pigs @my3guineapigsshop @kavee_pets
