When I’m designing clients’ new/renovated houses I recommend a top loading Speed Queen. At the very least I try to leave enough room to accommodate a side by side even if they are bringing their stacked W&D. Almost everyone gets tired of the mold eventually.

The drain holes in the gasket get clogged with slime. Gently clean them out with something like a plastic chopstick or the dull end of a bamboo skewer. Very gentle because that gasket costs a fortune to replace.

Our washing machine is in a damp basement and we run a dehumidifier to ensure everything dries. Bonus: line dry clothes dry faster as well!

Do you have any fragrance free solitons for my husbands smelly work clothes? He works on jet planes and the stains/smells of airplane chemicals just won’t leave. His work clothes are mostly synthetic fabrics but some cotton.

My way of sanitizing it is by using a cup of vinegar. Run it on sanitize mode. Then leave the door open after.
