Was very skeptical seeing the sourdough being cut to start. Not a bad first attempt, but definitely need a “hoagie” roll and put some salt, pepper, garlic powder, and worcestershire in when you sauté!

That looks like a great steak sandwich. For a cheesesteak use a long roll, and take a ribeye and freeze it so you can easily cut it into thin ribbons, cook it and use either American or provolone cheese and melt it into the cooking meat. Then you can add caramelized onions and peppers if you’d like. And don’t forget to salt and pepper the meat!

That is what I’d call a steak sandwich, many NorCal pubs serve this. Next time try a soft roll for bread and cut the meat into thin shreds.

Did you add ANY seasoning to the meat to your steak sandwich? 😩

I don't think I have ever been more horrified by a misinterpretation of a greasy cheep meat on a bun smothered in cheese sauce sandwich. She made a wonderful sandwich but it is not even a health hazard let alone reason to visit your cardiologist.

No peppers on a Philly steak... This is why we started America here... Red coats everywhere and now we have to deal with the red hats... Love Philadelphia/philthadelphia

I would call it an insult to philly without whiz on it, but you cnt possibly insult philly more than philly does on its own

as someone from Philly this wasn't a bad first attempt but it's not traditionally a Philly Cheese Steak

the only reason it looks good is because they did it wrong...let that sink in

you definitely made a cheesesteak... but not a Philly! looks damn good though! cheers from across the pond. a Philly generally needs to be on a hoagie roll or a French roll. Id say using provolone is the best cheese to use but cheddar is okay as well. the steak needs to be cut far thinner as well!

That's a pretty damn close attempt, although you're missing some vital specifications on ingredients like the bread and the cut of meat and proper cheese

Looks good! In the states, it is always in a long soft roll, like subway, and not sliced all the way through. It holds all the bits in. And we use either provolone cheese or a jarred cheese spread called cheese wiz 😂 I prefer the provolone.
