Help This Mama Become a Nurse While Caring for Her Medically Fragile Daughter Hi, I’m Tabby — a mom to two amazing kids, Brooklyn and Harlee. Brooklyn is medically fragile, born at 25 weeks and spent 231 days in the NICU. She’s on a ventilator, has a G-tube, cerebral palsy, seizures, legally blind, and needs 24/7 awake care. She chokes all day on her secretions, we have seen 3 out of state specialists with no resolutions and can’t be left alone. Every day is filled with suctioning, therapy, appointments, and constant monitoring. I don’t want to rely on nurses just so I can work or sleep. I want to be the one doing her care. I want to be there through every therapy session, cheering her on, helping her push a little harder each day. I want to be there for every moment, because I know her best. At the same time, I’m doing my best to be present for Harlee and keep our family afloat. It’s a lot to juggle, but I’ve decided to take a step toward a better future — not just for me, but for both of my kids. I’m going back to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). I’ve already started working toward this goal — enrolling in a CNA program and taking my prerequisites so I can apply for the LPN program here in Nevada. But financially, it’s tough. Between Brooklyn’s care, household expenses, and everything else, there’s just not enough left to pay for school and while im looking for grants, I do not qualify for fanfare or loans. What the Funds Will Help With: * CNA tuition and testing fees * College prerequisites (English and math) * CPR certification, books, and supplies * Childcare, clinical travel, and other costs If you’re able to donate or even just share this, it would mean so much.
