@nutritionrewired: What would you add? Probiotics don’t work because stomach acid destroys them- This depends on the strain and formulation. Many well-researched strains (like Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG or Saccharomyces boulardii) are acid-resistant or microencapsulated to ensure survival through the stomach. Plus, some probiotics don’t even need to colonize the gut long-term—they work transiently, supporting immune function, short-chain fatty acid production, and barrier integrity even if they don’t “take up residence.” The cholesterol in food doesn't affect blood cholesterol the way we were taught in the '90s. Eggs are nutrient powerhouses. HIIT can be great but context matters. It depends what your health picture looks like. If you are underfueling or not recovering well, it’s not going to benefit you. Your gut bacteria literally feed on fiber—it’s not about avoiding it, it’s about supporting your microbiome to tolerate it better. Cold plunging, like everything else, is more trendy than miraculous. It can be a great tool but some people, including myself don’t respond well in terms of heart rate variability. Mine was always way worse after doing it.
