But I don’t actually think it’s academias role to educate to the masses. Some things are actually just hard to understand and people have to take the time/ years to study. There’s no shortcut. Everyone has their own specialisms. As someone that’s spent years studying law, I’m not gonna then turn around expect someone to just simply explain quantum physics to me. I haven’t put in the work to understand and that’s not unfair, that’s just life. It’s not anti-intellectualism, it’s just knowing what you do and don’t know. That’s the bigger issue. Because now that I know that I can’t just learn quantum physics in a day, I’m not gonna go and start debating people about it

Charlie puts himself at a senior intellectual level - he does not see himself as a regular guy. He just didn’t get away with his normal tactics of out-smarting and confusing his opponent because the UK student were nothing like the US ones he is used to.

most if not all that the cambridge students were saying was correct, charlie kirk tends to bombard the average person with facts skewed to the narrative of the right so it was refreshing to see how actual understanding dismantled him, i can’t see how he ‘won’ in any way
