@howveyouben: Replying to @j3ttt3r Lilo & Stitch is so rich with potent messages and themes, only an idiot would want to take them out of the film! 😃 #liloandstitch #ohanameansfamily #liloandstitchremake #liloandstitchliveaction #nanipelekai

I can’t wait for the live action Finding Nemo where Marlin gives up looking for Nemo halfway through & never finds him

one thing I've always loved about this movie is how it doesn't really have a traditional villian, just a bunch of people trying to do the right thing from their perspective

This is the least important thing about the remake, but it also bothered me just how ugly the alien characters were. All the other live action remakes that had significant flaws at least looked incredible. Talk about insult to injury.

The normalization of breaking up native families is EXACTLY what my first thought was when I heard how it ended.

Can’t wait for live-action Toy Story 3 where Andy decides to keep his toys as gratifying his own nostalgia is more important than the possibility of allowing those memories to be shared with the next generation for them to create their own unique happy memories with their own unique style of play

Never understood why some think Lilo was a brat like she’s a kid who lost her parents and clearly neurodivergent ofc she gonna act out

everyone is missing the important message disney was trying to get across in the live action. its one they didn't get across in the cartoon, and that is they didn't make enough money off of the cartoon so they created this money grab live action because they can't make a new original movies to save there lives.

God. Seeing this after seeing someone defend the live action version while calling the original “lazily written” heals my soul.

Also, in the original movie Bubbles DOESN'T want to take Lilo away. He actively goes out of his way to give them time. Its why in the credits he's with the family, he's part of that community supporting them.

THANK YOU so many people don’t know the history of NATIVE Hawaiians it’s sad and the new movie is pushing the notion of native Hawaiians giving their children to the government and LEAVING their own land.

that new David's grandma made the whole movie plot seem unnecessary, that woman could've just offered to take Lilo's custody when she saw a teenager lose both her parents and be left alone. She was already watching Lilo for entire days anyway, she just stopped after the beginning of the movie because they needed the plot. Stitch is completely unnecessary and it felt like his only role in the live action turned into being cute and tearing Lilo and Nani apart (which is the opposite of what happens in the animation) and... Where's David's cool hair? Lilo MENTIONS it, but it's not there!!!!!

Lilo’s story WAS my story. I was raised by my older sister. She was my legal guardian. Changing the ending is wrong on so many levels.

My mom had a huge connection when this movie came out because she, like Nani, was raising me alone and was always in fear that the system would view her as unfit and take me away (she was perfect btw) and you know what she did? She went to school AND took care of me, she now has her masters degree :)

same happened with Mulan 😔 me messages was clear. women can be as valuable as men, you don't have to do nothing special but to use your brain. But no they have to give her superpowers cuz it's the only way a woman can be valuable.
