@anabelle.vangiller: 🥨 HomemadePretzels 🥨 1 & 1/2 cups warm water 2 tsp honey 2 tsp kosher salt 2 & 1/4 tsp active dry yeast 4 & 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 4 tbsp unsalted butter 2/3 cup baking soda 1 large egg yolk beaten with 1 tbsp water Kosher salt for topping (optional) In a large bowl (or bowl of stand mixer) add water, honey, and yeast. Stir and let sit for 5-10 mins until foamy. Combine flour and melted butter. Knead dough for 5-10 minutes (until it is smooth). Transfer dough back to bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 450°F. In a large pot over medium-high heat, whisk together baking soda and 10 cups of water. Bring mixture to a boil. While water is starting to boil, divide dough into 10 pieces. Roll out each dough piece into 24 inch ropes. Shape ropes into pretzels. Place pretzels into boiling water for 30 secs. Remove from water and transfer to prepared pan. Brush pretzels with egg wash and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
