I don't understand why this is even a thing on here.. the lady can be annoyed by your kid and vent about it to her people. And she can use her phone screen brightness however she likes. She didn't tell you to do anything about the kid and wasn't mean to the kid.

Reading someone’s private messages is super weird and invasive - they are allowed to vent privately to their friends, unless she’s actively making her annoyance publicly known and effecting those around her then what’s the problem? Expecting someone to change the brightness on their phone and seating position so you don’t invade their privacy is wild and entitled.
