Also for the toddlers and younger kids - the first step to “making” kids care for the planet and the environment is to bring them outside and introduce them to their local environment/areas. Kids want to protect the environment they know and love. If that bond is there from an early age they will care more about protecting it in the future! ❤️

I find the simplest way for me is to have them grow a seed in a cup. They care for the seed and take responsibility for the outcome. We talk about taking care of our planet as a society and how collectively we can create change

This is literally my current job, glad more larger creators are talking about it!💙 Here’s some organization to look into both for students and professionals! Any FFA/4-H chapter, MANNRS, Association of Career Technical Education, National Association for Agriculture Educators (each state has one too), North American Association for Environmental Education and Teach Ag programs!!

Awesome! 8th grade science teacher here. We looked at ice core samples and climate data, animal agriculture’s effect on climate (unfortunately most kids said they would still eat cows in spite of the methane) and discussed pollution and Ohio has really bad air quality.

I m halfway through my undergraduate research project on climate anxiety. creating ideas and programs like the things you mentioned is actually what I'm studying!! (smaller personal/ community programs impact on climate anxiety)

Teaching people about climate change is not easy and that’s why I highly recommend any educator to take a NNOCCI crash course. NNOCCI stands for National Network for Ocean and Climate Change Interpretation.

Excellent topic! Graphic Design class project idea - make and distribute an infographic for recycle options in your community. Locations plus rules can be complex and a barrier to entry for those wanting to recycle.

As an educator full time I’ll add to this for curriculum programs that are already out there! National Ag in the Classroom, Grow Next Gen, Seeds to Solutions Environmental Literacy Project and Subject to Climate are all free resources that align with the Common Core Standards and created by teachers. Most also are aligned with their corresponding state DoE as well🫶
