@oceanconnections: We recently celebrated Satara’s 31st birthday! This is a huge milestone as the average lifespan for a harbor seal is 10-20 years in their natural environment. We are able to double and triple their lifespan because of our husbandry program. Like many harbor seals, she has developed cataracts which do not cause her discomfort but do limit her vision.
