Truth. Got a job writing for HBO after a year of being persistent about meeting with a show runner who promised to have lunch with me. Every few weeks I’m like, “hey🥰…” Got the lunch. Turned the lunch into an internship, and the internship into a job.

As a professor- I’m teaching my students to do this. They will ask for things, I genuinely want to help them, but I am BUSY, and tell them to “email and remind me”— just don’t over do it 😂

Yes!! Early on my career a mentor told me you are never over communicating with a higher up. They will let you know if it’s too much. Let them know what good things you are doing regularly!
