everytime i see a chatbot on a website instead of an easy way to contact support i just scream at it to talk to a real person till it happens

they were too eager and adopted the technology too early, but don't be fooled, the future is still AI

It also doesn't help, that they pick an almost ok, general model instead of the top of the line, specialized one and don't allow you to use anything else. And only through a custom web ui that is the most limited interface you have ever seen.

a global company in my City invested into a accounting system, but never in teaching the employees how to use it. they spend around a million in licensing each year. I heard only five people don't use excel in the headquarters

Customer facing AI seems to be getting worse (likely due to it being actual AI now rather than a human pretending to be a bot). Corporate AI isn't great. You can't trust it as half the time it's answer is either wrong or just made up.

We have AI help at work. The times I have seen it used the most is for writing goodbye messages for people leaving the company

Because most companies just jump on the bandwagon, pouring money over what they think AI is (eg chat bots) and wait for magic to happen. But that's like using a microscope to hammer nails.
AI is very very effective in technical fields like coding/dev/research where you use specialized models and people who know how to use them.

absolutely I've recently had to deal with chat AI or a version of it on different websites extremely annoying especially when it can't answer my questions and it won't give me an option to talk to a human being or instructions on how to talk to a human being

I bet all the C Suite execs are blown away that the AI scams they fell for didn't pan out. Only C Suite would fall for something that obviously scammy

also, openai NEVER made money out of their services. If they didn't used "ai" as a very marketable term for something that's barely more avanced than predictive text, it would have crashed and burned a long time ago
