Hook setting with a baitcaster is also harder than a spinning reel because when your eyes of the rods are facing down, it’s easier and lighter to set that hook. So when using a Texas rig, or a frog, I stick to spinning reels. But when using lures with treble hooks, baitcaster have a stronger and stiffer backbone usually so you have to set the hook lightly and it’s easier to cast.

Don’t set it by pulling the bottom of ur rod reel down and give it a hard hook set
