The issue isn’t a lack of awareness, the issue is doctors dismissing women’s symptoms and her going undiagnosed and untreated for so long. Educate other doctors to listen to us, don’t put more burden on us when we’re not the problem.

That’s absolutely how women’s health is dealt with. Minimize our complaints, medical gaslighting, and ignoring us until it’s either too late or nearly too late.

My partner was sent from doctor to doctor for two years, and finally a doctor took him seriously; it was stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma. He died last December.

The real question here is why are there SO MANY stories exactly like this- yet no doctor says “let’s check for cancer” and instead tells us we are crazy instead? Being a woman is HARD.

The advice in this video is "see a doctor as soon as possible." But... she DID! And she was still dismissed multiple times. So what good is giving this advice without also holding doctors accountable?

I had swelling above my clavicle but it would come and go. Doctors kept blowing me off. I never gave up seeking answers and now I have been diagnosed with venous thoracic outlet syndrome.

I had a supraclavicular lymph node removed and tested…came back saying it looks weird but idk. Took them removing my spleen before they went back to that lymph node and said “lol jk there’s follicular lymphoma there.” 🥲

When I was little my pediatrician found a lump in my neck, he said it was nothing to worry about but it’s still there and a few months ago it got so big you could see it bulging from my neck. But it went down again eventually.

My son had Stage 1A Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2022. He’s been in remission ever since. It started with mono in 2018 and then he started to get chronic strep throat from 2021 until he was diagnosed. So glad it was caught early and it was a swollen lymph node in his neck.

Also, oddball secondary symptoms can be signs of cancer. I found out I had Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma from having Nephrotic syndrome. My oncologist told me of how he discovered a patient had cancer with the sole symptom being a rash.

Patients being ignored is becoming the norm in the USA. I'm not saying all doctors are bad, but the bad apples are spoiling the system. It takes going to multiple doctors & years to get a proper dx. Meanwhile, people are written off as hypochondriacs or drug seekers because they can't get anyone to listen.

I had a leukemia scare about 7-8 years ago. I still go to the cancer DR every 6 months for some testing to make sure nothing ever comes about since there’s a history of cancer in my family.
