Correcting people’s words and phrases is not “political correctness” 🙄. There is such a thing as correct grammar! 😂 Political correctness involves intimidation to silence speech and/or to intimidate people to use certain words or phrases which are illegitimate, such “Islamophobia” which is a package deal designed to conflate criticism of Islam with criticism of Muslims as people.

I think it can be class elitism but i don't think it necessarily is. Sometimes it's worse - 'virtue elitism' - 'i have better values than you'. But sometimes, honestly, it can be fair enough, we all need a little peer pushback occasionally if we're lacking awareness in our language.
