I solo traveled to Dubai back in March & have since seen a rise in anti-Dubai content. There’s various reasons for the negativity, but most of it boils down to Dubai having no real culture, it feeling soul-less & the realities of modern slavery going on there. I also hear some people talk about safety & trafficking. I didn’t really see much of this content before visiting, but now that it’s out there, I want to share my honest opinion of Dubai: Why I visited. What my honest experience was like. & Whether or not I would revisit. I wanted to visit Dubai because I want to travel just about everywhere in the world… I chose to spend 1 week traveling through Dubai & Muscat, Oman. Oman really blew me away, but Dubai…. Didn’t really. I had some awesome experiences in Dubai (the Aura Skypool & a hot air balloon ride in the desert stand out to me), but I can kinda agree that it’s a bit soul-less. I thought it was very safe & convenient, but I don’t think I really got the best bang for my buck. Would I revisit? Maybe. I definitely wouldn’t rush back. If I had a reason to go back, I would feel fine with it. So yes, I understand people’s ethical concerns & I also get that people don’t enjoy Dubai. Personally. I don’t think it’s the best or the worst place to travel. Most countries have a dark side, unfortunately. And there are parts of Dubai that many people would enjoy. I feel very mixed about it overall. What are your thoughts on Dubai? *idk why audio was a really weird for parts of it
