@minimalbelle: Starting this series to document anime moments that drive me nuts. There have been so many of them and I realize now that I should have been posting them as they occur so that I can find likeminded pissed-off friends on the internet to chat to about them 🤣 Over the weekend, I decided to catch up on Boruto and there’s a scene that irritated the heck out of me. Do you remember when the Funato and Hidden Mist are about to go to war and Boruto offers himself to Ikada as a sacrifice to end the war? WTF??? Were we supposed to think of him as selfless? Because to me that was one of the most ridiculously selfish things ever. It’s the casual way he did it, too. Like sir, do you not have a family??? Are your besties not standing right behind you??? Even Mitski with his questionable human status was crying. Like hello??? It's either Boruto loves no one or he doesn't feel the love of his family or friends for him because how do you just offer yourself up like that without thinking?
