@foragedbyfern: Quite often, when the pollen is high, I turn up to my foraging workshops with red, streaming eyes 😭 I have to explain to everyone that I haven't been crying, and I'm actually very happy to be there! I just haven't had any medicine yet! 😅 And when I say medicine, I mean a cup of this incredible brew! Which tends to clear up my symptoms in 10-15 minutes! It's said that the elder mother gives us the medicine we need when we need it! Hay fever relief as we come into summer and vitamin C, cold and flu fighting berries as we come into autumn! 🍂 Nettle is also incredible for hayfever symptoms! It acts as a natural antihistamine, helping to block the histamine receptors involved in allergic reactions like sneezing, itchy eyes, and runny noses. 🤧 Of course you can dry your herbs and make a tea blend, but you can also use fresh herbs! One nettle top and one elderflower head covered in (almost) boiling water, covered, and left to steep for 10 minutes, then mixed with some local honey will make the perfect hayfever remedy!
