@despitesystem: This is a question we’ve avoided answering for a while simply because there is no one-size-fits-all solution. It’s also very difficult to explain how we personally differentiate ourselves internally, and what works for us may not work for someone else. So, we’ve avoided the question for fear of getting it “wrong.” However, we’ve realized there really isn’t a “wrong” answer; it just depends on the system and what works best for them. We hope these examples are helpful to some of you, but even if they aren’t, that’s okay! What matters is finding methods of communication that work for you and your system. 🫶🏻 . . #didsystemsoftiktok #didsystem #didsystemawareness #didawareness #dissociativeidentitydisorder #systok #didtok #destigmatizedid #osdd #osddsystem #osddtok #mentalhealthtiktok #didalters #alters
we get really in our head that we’re faking being a system, but one of our ways to stop that train of thought is the silly question thing and it works wonders

We normally can’t tell, but we have this one guy who puts the word “whimsical” in as many sentences as possible, so it’s pretty easy to tell when he’s here TvT

The comment about getting more dissociated trying to figure everything out is so relatable. I remember doing that a lot in our system discovery early on and it definitely never went how I intended 😭

for us , our inner monologue is often very pessimistic so if we suddenly hear a voice in our head saying something helpful and positive we're just like " Yep Ok That's An Alter . " , there's also a lot of like ? tone differences between alters for us and speaking patterns . not many of us have very prominent accents but we typically have different ways of getting words across and use different slang , that's usually what differs it from inner monologue and inner dialogue .

This doesn’t work in my case 🤔 because most probably an alter who knows about the peanuts. We have a lot of co-fronting so it’s really difficult to surprise the other alter when sharing a head

I just “talk” in the headspace, it’s hard to explain to someone. The best example I have is if I “hear” something that doesn’t seem like “me” I will ask a question. It also helps when they have very distinct different ideas on something I’m asking. So I’d usually get a response that doesn’t relate to

for us we get like..."oh I wouldn't think that, that must be x or y" but it also helps that me as the front has a pretty sparse inner monologue so it's easier to sort what's mine or not

we can usually identify which alters are talking, cofronting, close to the front or fronting, by figure out how we’re feeling or the tone we’re speaking in. it’s taken time & practice to get here. we love how you worded this! 🥰

Sometimes I worry that I’m still answering my own questions or inserting random thoughts myself. It’s so hard to tell sometimes 😭

So I often struggle with crowded headspace’s from time to time! Usually my protector and such helps me with it. Though is there a healthy way to calm that time. Also is it strange to say that mien talk to me sometimes? It is like a monologue thing but it’s like we talk? Is that normal? What are some tips for grounding yourself in those crowded situations? Also I am self conscious about having did it isn’t a fun experience. Do you struggle with this to? Have you ever? I’m looking into more therapy for mine! (Sorry for so many questions I love your content and find it relatable and comforting!)

This might be a silly question. But about co-fronting! How does it feel? How can you tell that an alter is co-fronting? What usually triggers it, or is it random? What about having multiple alters co-front at the same time? Sorry about having such an easy to answer question, I’m just curious.

ive been suspecting OSDD or DID but having an impossible time telling whether its me talking to myself or an actual alter but every time I question it I feel a reassuring "yes" basically, is that normal or is that a sign its something else?

we have inside voice, outside voice, and thoughts and feelings, all of which are easy for us to tell apart, but really difficult to tell who is actually thinking/talking

I don't have a personal inner voice. if I hear them it isn't me. now... figuring out who is who can be tricky. a couple sound a lot alike. then I use HOW they talk

Do they sound different? like with my inner monologue I can change the voice to sound different, do the thoughts sound different? like distinct voices?
