it's a fast paced popcorn nostalgia movie. If you see it for that, I think it's fine. Jaden Smith's version deffo had more character development and arc though

We’re u really expecting a good story from a karate kid movie 😭 watched it today with no expectations and it was such a fun time obviously the story is plain but the jokes were acc hilarious 😭

Better story line would have been if 2 kids were getting trained by Daniel for a tournament. 1 of the kids goes bad and he is the far superior and better fighter out of the 2 but to get the other kid upto speed and better than the bad kid Daniel finds Jackie Chans character and both of them would train the student. Then there would be a big fight between the 2 kids at the end. Obviously with a deeper story as to why the kid turns bad or is bad.

For me the pacing was the biggest issue scenes that should have hit harder or could’ve have served as more character development just brushed over so much im convinced it was done on purpose lol

The idea of 2 branches 1 tree was great but it was hardly the theme of the film. Li fong was mentioning 'everything is kung fu' too so I wish he had picked up at least one move from the boxer dude, would've probably make me care more about him.
