Damn I didn’t even think of the Arya comparison! SPOT ON! I also just learned that Maisie (Arya) was actually supposed to play Ellie! Unfortunately, production took too long and she aged out.

ellie in the game becomes just like joel, calculated, mostly level-headed, goal-oriented and coldblooded when she wants to be. the showrunners didn’t do enough to portray her like that.
