This is actually infuriating. Also it’s not just lack of husband’s support- it’s the lack of support overall. No involved grandparents, no community b/c we work ALL THE FUCKING TIME- no self-care, no maternity leave, we have to stay in jobs b/c most households need 2 incomes- and we need it for health insurance & because childcare is more than our rent/mortgage. Technology? NO, it’s patriarchy & end stage capitalism that is choking us…but letting us have gasps of air while they tell us to breathe harder before they wrap their hands around our necks again. It’s completely unsustainable and it hurts women disproportionally.

I don’t understand why women don’t demand more from their husbands/partners? It took a bit but I literally made my husband help with the kids and around the house. He didn’t have a choice because the alternative was something he knew he didn’t want to face.

Ha that’s rich, you’re right! funny I remember hearing that when housewives were put on pills, or given labotomies in the mid century when they began to have the same problems rather than looking at the artificial dynamic of our families and non tribal society, and we still haven’t learned the lesson… 🤔

I’m a single parent to an adhd 4 yo, gifted 17 yo and stuck taking of bedridden 75 yo abusive mother. I haven’t had a break in 4 plus years. 24/7. I have no time to have mental breakdown.
