She purposefully wrote her poems to simulate spoken language, instead of literature, and made sure to read them aloud whenever possible. This made her work accessible—but also made sure her audience felt the full impact of her ideas. When she read you could feel the weight of her pauses, jokes, and the other magical nuances that come with human speech. Such a privelege to experience hearing her speak, laugh, observe.
